Year 10 Summer Garden Concert: Wednesday 21st May 2025
On Wednesday, our Year 10 musicians performed in the beautiful surroundings of the Head’s Garden for their summer concert.
With a BBQ for pupils and parents beforehand, the evening had a relaxed and celebratory feel. We were fortunate with the weather, with just one music stand blown over by the breeze and the rain arriving only after the final note had been played. A wide range of styles was performed, featuring soloists, bands, singers and instrumentalists. Twenty-two pupils took part, reflecting the strength of musical talent in this year group.
The concert concluded with a group performance of Pachelbel’s Canon, which the pupils have been studying as part of their GCSE Music course. We were grateful for the expert technical support from Year 12 Music Technology pupil Joseph Maxwell, who ensured the sound remained in perfect balance throughout. Thank you to all the parents and staff who came along to support, and well done to our excellent Year 10 musicians. We look forward to seeing this group continue to grow as they progress through the school.
