50 Years of Girls at Blundell's
In September 1975, Blundell's School welcomed its first female pupil, Arabella Ashworth, marking the beginning of a transformative journey towards coeducation.
This September we are proud to celebrate fifty years of girls at Blundell's, marking half a century of female contributions to our school's rich history.
Over the next 6 months, we will be sharing reflections, memories, videos, and images from both past and present Blundellians, as well as former and current staff. We will also highlight the exciting activities our current pupils are undertaking as part of this campaign, while showcasing the remarkable evolution of female education at Blundell’s.

Arabella Ashworth, our pioneering first female student, will serve as the President of the OB Club for the day, she will lead the celebrations alongside the Chair of the OB Club, Katharine Sendell. This OB Day will be a wonderful opportunity for all generations to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the vibrant history and progress of our school community. The day promises to be filled with engaging activities and time to catch up with old friends and staff. Together, we’ll reflect on the legacy and achievements of Blundell’s girls over the past five decades. Speech Day celebrates our pupils achievements, showcases their talent, and brings together the school community for awards and recognition, performances, and prize-giving. This year will also be a chance for the school to acknowledge the 50 years of girls at Blundell's. |

We invite OBs back for a special event here at Blundell’s.
