50 Years of Girls at Blundell's

In September 1975, Blundell's School welcomed its first female pupil, Arabella Ashworth, marking the beginning of a transformative journey towards coeducation.

This September we are proud to celebrate fifty years of girls at Blundell's, marking half a century of female contributions to our school's rich history.

Over the next 6 months, we will be sharing reflections, memories, videos, and images from both past and present Blundellians, as well as former and current staff. We will also highlight the exciting activities our current pupils are undertaking as part of this campaign, while showcasing the remarkable evolution of female education at Blundell’s.

Campaign Highlights for 2025:

Old Blundellian Day - June 14, 2025

Arabella Ashworth, our pioneering first female student, will serve as the President of the OB Club for the day, she will lead the celebrations alongside the Chair of the OB Club, Katharine Sendell.

This OB Day will be a wonderful opportunity for all generations to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the vibrant history and progress of our school community.

The day promises to be filled with engaging activities and time to catch up with old friends and staff. Together, we’ll reflect on the legacy and achievements of Blundell’s girls over the past five decades. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a landmark occasion—join us as we honour the past and look forward to the future.

50 Years of Girls Dinner - September 13, 2025

We invite OBs back for a special event here at Blundell’s. Watch the school matches, take part in a special tour of the girls' houses, and end the day with a formal dinner reconnecting and celebrating the achievements and memories of our female community members.
