Thursday 02nd October - Ross Mc Gill - Just Great Teaching
Ross is a qualified teacher who across three decades, has worked in some of the most challenging secondary schools in London as a design technology teacher, middle leader and as a deputy headteacher. He is regularly asked to reflect on educational developments in multiple publications about education policy, including The Guardian and The Telegraph newspapers and through his website, advocates teaching and supports thousands worldwide.
Thursday 16th October – Aspiring middle leader conference – Day 1
This is a 2 day course for classroom teachers looking for the next step in their career, perhaps to lead a department, and are looking for ideas on how to prepare for the move. The focus will be on hands-on experience building, focusing on the skills needed to apply for and be successful in that next step, and the extra responsibilities that brings.
Thursday 20th November – Moving to senior leadership
What can someone who has been in post for a few years as an HoD/ House Parent/ Head of Sixth Form/ etc and is looking for the next step (Deputy Head/ Assistant Head/ SLT) do to make themselves as viable a candidate as possible?
Tuesday 18th November – ECT 1 Regional meeting
A professional development event designed for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) in their first year of induction. It provides a supportive space for new teachers to connect with peers, share experiences, and engage in targeted training sessions that align with the Early Career Framework. The meeting typically includes workshops, reflective discussions, and practical strategies to help ECTs build confidence, enhance their classroom practice, and navigate the challenges of their first year in teaching.
Wednesday 25th February – ECT 2 Regional meeting
A dedicated session for Early Career Teachers in their second year of induction. It focuses on deepening professional practice, building on the foundations laid in the first year, and preparing teachers for greater independence and leadership in the classroom. The meeting offers opportunities for collaboration, reflection, and advanced training aligned with the Early Career Framework, helping ECTs refine their teaching strategies, explore career development pathways, and share insights with peers at a similar stage in their journey.
Thursday 05th March – Training for senior leaders
A training day designed to empower senior school leaders with the tools and insights needed to lead with impact. This event offers practical sessions on strategic planning, team development, data-driven decision-making, and managing change effectively. With a focus on wellbeing, innovation, and future-ready leadership, it’s an unmissable opportunity to connect with peers, share best practices, and drive meaningful improvement in your school.
Thursday 12th March – Moving to Houseparenting
With BSA courses staying online, a chance to get some hands-on experience to learn specific skills to help you be successful in winning a House, and then thrive in a House Parenting role in a boarding school.
Tuesday 19th May - Aspiring middle leader conference – Day 2
The second day of this course has a strong focus on the head of department as a leader of learning, managing up and down and how to share the strategic vision with colleagues.
