The Christmas Market is a Community Partnerships event, one of twenty this term! Community Partnerships at Blundell’s is our outreach programme, supported by over 100 Blundellians who form the Community Action Team (CAT). Pupils volunteer to run a wide range of initiatives under the guidance of 10 CAT Leaders. Last year, 2024-2025, Community Partnerships hosted over 2000 visitors, with 1300 children from local State Schools. Primary Schools Partnership Programme: all our local Primary Schools visit Blundell’s for a day with an academic focus in the morning, pastoral over lunch and sport in the afternoon. There are also termly sports mornings and events such as the Literary Festival with invites to school concerts and plays. Tiverton High School Partnership: the CAT meet half termly with Tiverton High School Ambassadors, planning joint activities and their regular presentation given to the Tiverton Town Council, alongside the Head Boy and Girl from THS. The Most Able and Talented programme builds on our Primary School Partnership Days alongside termly Mental Health and Sustainability workshops with year 9 and 10 pupils from both schools. Tiverton Town and Town Council: the Town Council are very supportive of our many partnerships listed here such as our Autumn Field Day which sees the whole of Yr. 12 engaged in community outreach. The Blundell’s Garden and Garden Cabin: are the centre for our community programmes. Termly Garden Open Days welcome school and community group visits. We are part of Tiverton’s entry to RHS Britain in Bloom, member of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening and we open for the National Garden Scheme. The Café supports events and charity fundraising. Charity: House and whole School charities raise tens of thousands each year with Blundellians giving service and practical, hands-on support to many. The 2025 Blundell’s Christmas Market is our first. It is a free event for our Blundell’s Communities of Parents, Staff, Old Blundellians and Pupils and warmly welcomes all those with whom we have developed Community Partnerships. Many thanks for making this a special evening and thank you to all those who have helped this idea become a reality. Strong and sustainable partnerships between communities benefits us all.
