Year 12 Pupil Ginevra Reaches Semi Final of BBC Young Chorister of the Year 2026
Blundell’s is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Year 12 pupil, Ginevra, who has reached the semi-final of the prestigious BBC Young Chorister of the Year 2026 competition, having been selected as one of the final five singers nationally.
The BBC Young Chorister of the Year is one of the country’s leading competitions for young classical singers aged 10–17, attracting talented performers from across the UK. To reach the final stages of such a highly competitive national event is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects Ginevra’s exceptional musical talent, dedication, and commitment to choral singing.
The semi-final will take place in July at Hallé St Peter’s in Manchester, where Ginevra will work with renowned singer and presenter Aled Jones as part of the next stage of the competition.
Ginevra plays a leading role in choral music at Blundell’s, singing across all four of the School’s senior choirs. She has performed a number of impressive solo performances and is admired for the enthusiasm, musicianship, and leadership she brings to rehearsals and concerts alike.
This achievement also marks another significant moment for music at Blundell’s, further strengthening the School’s growing national reputation for choral excellence following last year’s World Premiere performance of A Season To Sing.
We congratulate Ginevra on this fantastic achievement and wish her every success in the semi-final this summer.
