The Journey Through Prep
Children begin their exciting journey through the Prep at the age of 7 when they join Year 3.
During this first year they are predominantly class taught although specialist teaching in French, Music, Computing, DT, FT and Games means that the children will start to experience some movement within the main school building. Pupils are also placed in sets for the core subjects of English and Mathematics, allowing the curriculum to be tailored to the needs of every child. Independence is developed as they move into Year 4 and as additional subject specialisms are introduced.
The value of strong pastoral connections is at the heart of our Prep School and every child knows that they have a form teacher who is always on hand to provide guidance and support. In Year 5 the children are often split into 3 forms and this continues in to Year 6 when the children experience their final year at the Prep School and all of the privileges and responsibilities that go with being the most senior pupils.
