[ Devizes to Westminster marathon ]

White Water Kayaking

Due to the location of the school, kayaking is a popular activity. The River Exe flows through Tiverton and the Grand Western Canal runs at the back of the school grounds.

Over the past nine years the school has entered teams in the 125-mile 'Devizes to Westminster' kayak marathon. In 2003 the school entered three pairs in this event.  All the crews completed the race in good style with Hugo Davies and William Bosworth being the first junior crew under Westminster Bridge.  This year's pairs were:

To keep fit, the summer term sees the onset of surf season.
A few trips to the North Devon coast reminds pupils of the
joys of kayaking.

white-water trips on Dartmoor and Exmoor are enjoyed by
the more experienced pupils.
