2007/8 1st XI hockey squad

Congratulations to the U18 Squad, who once again, were crowned Devon Outdoor Champions. In the finals they drew 1-1 against Torquay Girls Grammar, beat West Buckland 5-0 and Maynards 3-0 to finish on top.

U14s just failed in their bid to win the Devon Finals. They won three of their four matches,Churston Grammar 3-1, S. Dartmoor 1-0 and W. Buckland 2-0 but lost the deciding game 0-1 to Colyton Grammar.

The U16 Indoor Squad were runners-up in the County finals. Having beaten Exe Hockey Club and Exeter School, they found ISCA too strong. However, they still qualify for the West of England Finals at Cheltenham in December.

The U18 squad came desperately close to making the finals of the Indoor Hockey Championships. They comfortably defeated St Mary's and Wycliffe both 6-0 and then a fantastic 1-1 draw against Millfield saw a semi-final versus Cheltenham Ladies. In a very close encounter they went down 3 goals to 4 and ended up finishing in third place.

The Girls U14 Indoor Squad won the Exeter Area Tournament recently in a pool which included Exeter School, The Maynard and St Margaret's. They progress onto the Devon finals.

The U14s, having won the Exeter area Tournament, went on to win the Devon Tournament by drawing with Holsworthy, beating Plymouth College, Kingsbridge and Colyton Grammar to secure the trophy. Goal scorers were Hannah Watts (Captain), Mia West, Ciara O'Kelly,Tessa Ryder and Sophie Scott.

The U13 Devon Mini Finals saw our U13s lose a closely contested final to Exeter School. On their way through they beat Maynards 1-0, Dart Valley HC 3-0, ECVH Hockey Club 1-0 and Ivybridge 2-0. Charlotte Routledge led the way scoring 4 goals and the two Pollys, Carr and Thomas also netted goals.

The U13 Indoor Squad, once again, won the Hockey Skills Finals. Miss Hosking reports that they trained very hard for this event, finishing with a total of 141/2 points out of a possible 16. captain Charlotte Routledge gave an excellent acceptance speech when receiving the trophy from the Devon secretary.
