A team of six took part in the third round of the Devon Schools Cross Country Championships at Stover on Saturday.  Tabby Pring and Bird Wood ran in a highly competitive Intermediate girls race but were unlucky not to qualify.  In the Intermediate boys race Dougal Glacier ran a determined race to finish 16th and Karl Still pushed hard to finish an impressive 7th.  In the Senior Boys Frank Thornton-Wood managed 15th against a very strong field and Jake Smith ran an incredible race to beat his nemesis in to third place and come second overall.  Jake and Karl will almost certainly qualify for the South West Championships in early February. Blundell's produced some fantastic results at the Exeter & District Cross Country Championships with 14 of our runners qualifying for the next round of the National Schools competition. It was great to see some students racing competitively for the first time. Notable performances included: joint 8th for Tabitha Pring and Bird Wood in the Intermediate Girls; 3rd place for Ruth Squires in the Senior Girls; 1st/2nd place for Karl Still and Dougal Glaisher in the Intermediate Boys and 1st place for Jake Smith who obliterated the senior field winning by several hundred metres.
