2013 Captain of Cross Country: Lucy Reynolds NC/W

King's Cup: One of the largest cross-country teams for some time set off for Staple Fitzpaine to take part in the King's Cup last Thursday. Boggy conditions made the going very tough and King's College very much had the home advantage over a short but challenging course. Archie Stoneman Yr 9 ran a strong race holding his own against some talented Upper Sixth King's runners while Ed Barlow (still struggling a bit with his ‘left’ and ‘right’) and Tristan Free gave very creditable performances for the boys.  Newly appointed XC Captain Lucy Reynolds was the first of the girls home, followed by Milly Maunder and Holly Keevil.  A creditable second place overall for Blundell’s against tough opposition.

Mammoth Trophy 2013 - A squad of 8 took part in a gruelling 5 mile race around Clatworthy Reservoir on Saturday in atrocious conditions.  The team finished 3rd overall, behind very strong Millfield and King's Taunton sides, with Ed Barlow and Ben Rice both finishing in the top 10 (out of 57 runners).

Quantock Relays: A team of twelve (2 boys teams and one girls team) took part in the Quantock Relays last Wednesday.  A total of 12 teams were entered and the Blundell’s boys came an impressive third overall to Millfield and Kings Taunton.  The girls team ran well though were hampered somewhat by injury.  I am very grateful to those who stood in for injured runners to ensure we fielded a girls team.
