Upper Sixth pupils relaxing in Westlake

Sixth Form Two Distinct Years

The Lower 6th Form students are members of one of the five main boarding houses and are the leaders of the house - role models for the younger years. They choose their A levels based on advice and future aspirations. As leaders within their house they can start to develop the character traits that one would want to see in a successful student ready to take on the final year of study. They have a designated tutor and are encouraged to consider wider issues in their weekly tutor meetings.

In the Upper Sixth year Blundellians join Westlake – the co-educational day and boarding house. This is designed to afford them the opportunity to make the transition between school and post-school life. They work and live together and are fortunate to have a very modern ‘campus style’ house to spend their final year of school. Within the co-ed setting they have more independence yet just as much personal support and guidance when needed. Our support team for Careers and Further Education has many years of experience in preparing students for university, gap year study, and the world of employment and the many new opportunities that face the Blundell’s leaver.
