Description The Head and Governing Body of Blundell’s School invite applications for the position of Director of Development.

Set in the stunning Devon countryside, approximately 30 minutes from Exeter and 2 hours from London, Blundell’s is a beautiful co-educational boarding school in Tiverton.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in strategic development and fundraising and have first-hand experience of the implementation of a major ‘Capital Campaign’, preferably in a comparable (charitable or otherwise) organisation.

Description Reports to: Director of Music

Responsible for: Instrumental/ vocal teaching

Purpose: A Visiting Music Instrumental/vocal Teacher (VMT) provides individual and/or group tuition in his/ her instrumental/ vocal specialism. Main duties and responsibilities

  • To provide effective individual and/or group tuition in his/ her first study instrument;
  • To contribute to a student’s assessment via a written report, submitted at the end of each term;
  • To prepare students for practical examinations involving performance assessments;
  • To advise the Director of Music on instrument specific issues as applicable to a student’s academic recital programme.

 

Supervision received

The post holder will report to the Director of Music who also acts as line manager for all VMTs. Supervision given

General guidance to academic colleagues and supervision of clerical and technical staff associated with the programme will be given as appropriate. Contact

The post holder will be required to work with students and staff within Blundell’s School. Terms and conditions

3 terms a year, delivery of at least 30 lessons per year.
