Policy for connecting computer devices to the school network
Pupils may have one device (laptop or desktop) connected to the school network so that they can access their files, the Internet and use school printers and other resources. The IT department will reconfigure the device to enable it to work both on and off campus. This will only be done to the devices running the following operating systems.

The computer will also need to have some Office type applications installed. We use Microsoft Office 2007/2010 which is available from Software 4 Students at a very reasonable price. You may also use the free alternative of Open Office which is available for Windows, Linux and OSX. (Links to these and other resources are on the IT homepage)
The IT department will not configure devices to use the school network that are primarily consumption of information devices. This includes Smartphones and tablet devices that do not run a fully flexible operating system as listed above.
In reconfiguring devices we aim to operate a policy where the device is ready the day after it is dropped off. This can be delayed due to busy time periods and as such we never accept devices for reconfiguring during the first week of any term.
