Religious Studies
GCSE
The Year 9 course is intended to give an introduction to religious issues, covering basic religious philosophy, ethics and the beliefs of two world religions. They will cover topics such as proofs for the existence of God, basic ethical theory and some applied ethics, such as war and peace.
This the leads into the GCSE short-course, which all will cover in Years 10-11. They are examined by one piece of coursework and one examination paper. A total of four topics will be studied. Currently the syllabus covers the problem of Evil, Religion and Science, Medical Ethics, Peace and Justice.
