Art Trips

We have an active policy to take all ages outside the classroom to view art and gain inspiration from a wide range of experiences. Visits over the last two years for years 7, 8 and 9 have included Broomhill Sculpture Park, the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, the Mythic Sculpture Garden on Dartmoor, Bovey Tracy Art’s Guild, Paignton Zoo and the Eden Project.

The GCSE groups have been to the Saatchi gallery, Tate St Ives, Hepworth’s  House and the West of England Academy in Bristol. The Sixth Form have been to Tate Modern, the Royal Academy, the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain, Millennium Point in Birmingham and Kilve, Eyestorm Exeter.

The release of the A level exam papers in the Spring term is the perfect opportunity to gather research from further afield. Trips have included Madrid, Amsterdam, Prague, Rome, Venice and we have just returned from a very successful visit to New York where we visited MOMA, the Guggenheim, the Met and the International Centre for Photography.
