Art and Design
A-Level

[ Art Gallery ]

There are a number of options available in Art and Design. You may take a general practical course which will cover drawing, painting and sculpture (Fine Art) or specialise in photography (Photography), or take a more theoretical course looking at aspects of the history and meaning of art, architecture and design (Historical and Critical). Each course will have a clear and detailed guide, which will give information on our expectations and assessment.

Art is both a means of communication and a vehicle for expression. Through the development of practical skills, visual perception and aesthetic awareness you are encouraged to approach making and understanding art with imagination and sensitivity.

All courses require a personal study on some aspect of Art and Design, which may be presented in a variety of ways. Students taking any of the courses will be required to take part in drawing from life on a regular basis.
